In August 2025, Silk Road Fund invested in Sun King, a leading provider of off-grid solar lighting solutions in Africa. Founded in 2009, Sun King focuses on distributed solar lighting and household appliances in 40 African countries, with 99% of its products developed and manufactured in Shenzhen, China. Through its “pay-as-you-go” model, the company delivers clean, affordable lighting and appliances to low-income African households, exemplifying “Made in China for Africa” and advancing inclusive and sustainable development.
